The Haven

Celestron Nexstar 11 GPS

Purchased from David Hinds Ltd in 2004 and housed in the dome. Used primarily for imaging and some visual.

Mounted on a Milburn wedge and the Celestron tripod.

Celestron Nexstar 102 SLT

Purchased from eBay in 2015. ‘Grab & Go scope and will be used for solar work in the future.

Mounted on standard Celestron mount and/or EQ5.


This one will also be used for outreach events and also for showing friends and family

Watec 120n Camera

Used for deep sky work.


It is a monochrome live view video camera with integration times of up to 10 seconds

DFK21AU04.AS Camera

Used for Solar System work

DSO-1 Camera

Awaiting delivery.

This is a next generation colour live view video camera with integration times of 20 seconds per frame and in-camera stacking of up to 5 frames

EQ5 + Synscan

Used to carry the 102 SLT for Solar work and may also be used to carry the SLT as a guide scope for DSLR wide field work - work in progress

DayStar Quark

Awaiting dleivery.


A Chromosphere/prominence ‘eyepeice’ - will be used in conjunction with the SLT 102
